Privacy Policy

Looques Limited (“Looques™”, “we”, “us”) operates the Looques™ marketplace at www.looques.com and the Looques™ mobile application. Looques Limited is a company registered in England & Wales, company number 17348300, with registered office as shown on the Company Details page. We are the controller for the personal data described in this policy.

Looques Limited is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Registration with the ICO is a statutory requirement for organisations that process personal data and does not constitute approval, certification, accreditation or endorsement of Looques™ by the ICO.

• Account: name, email, phone (optional), password hash, profile photo, preferred language, and the identity selfie required at onboarding.
• Bookings: venues accessed, timestamps, price paid, QR access events and refund history.
• Payments: handled by our payment processor Stripe; we store limited transaction metadata (such as the last four digits of the card and card brand) but not full card numbers.
• Location: approximate device location when the map or nearby search is used, only with your permission.
• Host and Ambassador information: where you apply to become a Host or Ambassador, the identity, right-to-work, business and payout information required to review and operate that role.
• Communications: messages you send to Looques™ support (including chats with our AI assistant Sophie), Hosts, or other users.
• Device: IP address, browser type, operating system and diagnostic/crash logs.

• To provide the service — discovery, bookings, QR access and receipts.
• To keep the platform safe — identity checks, fraud detection and enforcement of our terms.
• To comply with legal obligations — including tax, accounting, safeguarding and lawful requests.
• To improve the product — aggregated, non-identifiable analytics.
• To contact you — service notifications and, only with your opt-in, marketing messages.

We rely on the following legal bases under UK GDPR: performance of a contract (bookings, payments, providing accounts), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement), consent (marketing messages and precise location), and legal obligation (tax records and lawful requests).

• Hosts and venue staff — the minimum information needed to grant access (such as your first name and booking code).
• Service providers — Stripe (payments), our SMS and email delivery providers, our hosting and infrastructure providers, and our AI provider for the Sophie assistant. Each provider is bound by a contract restricting them to processing your data on our instructions.
• Authorities — only when legally required, or to prevent or investigate harm, fraud or misuse of the service.

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, and to meet our legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and regulatory obligations. Where a longer retention period is required by UK tax or accounting law (for example transaction records), we will keep the relevant records for that period. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.

Subject to the conditions in UK data protection law, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and (where processing is based on consent) the right to withdraw consent at any time.
